Thailand's beaches are legendary for blue water, white sand and long coastlines. They are also notorious for being either remote or full moon party places. We opted for something in the middle by visiting Koh Lanta off the coast of Krabi and Phuket. Beautiful long beaches with few tourists even during the high season separate the lush jungle from the sea. Great food, fun beach bars and beaches full of beautiful coral liven the scene. Koh Lanta's sun sets are breathtaking including one we saw where the sky and water turned pink and purple. Once the sun sets the local taxi (a motorcycle attached to a sidecar) drivers are ready to take you around the island to eat at restaurants that are nestled along the coast line. Koh Lanta is a perfect place to just relax.
