Kruger National Park, South Africa
It was such a privilege to visit Kruger National Park and witness up close the majestic beauty of the land and animals in their natural habitat. There are a few paved roads in the park but mostly we explored it on bumpy dirt roads driving past elephants, giraffes, hippos and many more animals and birds. Thanks to our wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide Clive from Wildlife Safaris we saw the big five (elephant, cape buffalo, rhinoceros, lion and leopard). As you will see from the photos we were very close to these wild animals in an open truck. These photos were all taken with an 85mm lens. So, yes, we were very close. Each day we drove hours searching for animals, and you never knew what was going to unfold as you turned down a dirt road. My favorite takeaways were the long drives through the savanna which were very zen and seeing the different animals interact with each other in their natural environment.
