Pokhara, the second largest city in Nepal after Kathmandu, feels anything but a big city. The air quality is refreshing, the town is walkable and the vibe is a quaint, laid back, lake side town. While Pokhara has a small town feel, the mountains surrounding Pokhara are anything but small. Three of the 10 highest mountains in the world--Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Annapurna--are the gateway for many to trek the Himalayas. Unfortunately, we did not get to see the mountains through the heavy mist and cloud cover. We did get to enjoy the lake and the town which is filled with trekking and souvenir shops, small restaurants and hotels.
