Melaka, Malayasia
Melaka, an UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008, is a quaint town about a two-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. The heart of the town is filled with historical colonial buildings which are now reused as antique shops, restaurants, coffee shops and unique boutique stores. The town has a lot of similarities to George Town in Penang.
The colorful town is filled with cartoon inspired tuk-tuk/trishaw carts piping out music and giving a 30-minute tour of the town. This activity is a favorite among adults and children alike. Another way to see the town is by taking a river boat cruise through the town where the locals have painted street art along the backs of the buildings to highlight the history and culture of Melaka.
