Luang Prabang, Laos
Laos has been on my bucket list of countries to visit for a long time. After a lot of research I decided Luang Prabang would be the city that would finally get me to Laos.
The UNESCO city did not disappoint. The sleepy, small town features very well kept architecture, fabulous old school charm and the people are friendly and laid back. Having over 30 temples in a dense area offers lots of monk sightings and the call to alms procession at sunrise is charming to experience. The food of Luang Prabang was fantastic and the options were endless including lots of pizza places around town. The Kuang Si Waterfall was the highlight of the trip with the beautiful blue color water that could be only described as the color of a Tiffany’s jewelry box.
While time moves slowly in Luang Prabang a long weekend is the perfect amount of time to soak up the smells, sights and culture of Luang Prabang.
